RPM 2013 is almost here

Posted: January 30, 2013 in Music, RPM

I’d been having doubts about participating this year but in the end I signed up this afternoon.  This will be the seventh (!) year for me –  not sure where the time has gone really, it doesn’t seem like it was back in Feb 2007 that I made Intentional Distortion. I was in two minds about it this year as I’ve been knocking out stuff at quite a rate recently. I released an album back in November and I’ve got two more finished now, one of which will see the light of day in March or April all being well. Having all this material made me wonder if there was a need for me to make another album so soon, but as seven seems to be the number that keeps coming up recently I thought it was a sign. Anyway, you can never have too many tracks and as I seem to be in a good spell at the moment I might as well continue. Not to mention I’ve got an idea that I want to try out – I won’t say any more at the moment as these things tend to change radically during the course of a month (none of the RPM albums have turned out anything like I first envisaged them) so I’ll see how things proceed before I mention it again.

The usual demos and half-finished tracks will be posted up here as the month goes by. I’m hoping to have the best part of three days free at the start of the month too so I should have something to share fairly quickly.

Just time to mention that my long-lost EP Night Studies, that first emerged back in 2009 on Sidedown Audio is now back online – this time as a free download. It can be picked up here – and all the other Bitesize EPs can be found on that page too, so fill your virtual pockets while you’re there…
